Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has come out strongly in favour of Ram Mandir. At the gathering of 80th Birthday celebrations of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das who is the head of Mani Ram Das Chawni Peeth, CM Yogi was very vocal about the issue of Ram Mandir. As reported by Indian Express, while addressing a “Sant Sammelan” in Ayodhya, Yogi said, “Lord Ram is the master of this universe. It is obvious that when Ayodhya has his blessings, the Ram temple would be built in Ayodhya… there should be no doubt about this (sic).”
Many seers tried to corner CM Yogi as to when the Ram Mandir would be built. CM Yogi asked them to be patient and reminded them that we are living in a democratic country. He said, “You (saints) must not forget that we live in the world’s biggest democracy. We have to keep all the factors in mind before constructing the Ram temple. I can understand the sentiment of saints on the issue and everyone sitting here also empathizes with them.” He further added, “No one should have any doubt about the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. Ram Mandir will definitely be constructed here.” CM Yogi’s assurance received huge round of applause and chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram.’ This statement is of immense significant. With his confidence it is clear that things are moving swiftly despite many hurdles created by the Congress, and the BJP is serious about the issue of Ram Mandir.
CM Yogi lambasted the previous CMs of UP for neglecting the Ayodhya for years and not providing basic amenities like power and water supply. He spoke about how he is focusing on the development of Ayodhya and the Ram Mandir unlike the previous CMs. As reported by Hindustan Times, CM Yogi said, “How many chief ministers have come to Ayodhya in the last 15 years. Ayodhya was neglected for so many years. It lacked basic amenities like power and water supply. Sanitation was a major issue here. Even the Saryu aarti was stopped by the previous government. It was after the BJP came to power in UP that things began to change and the Saryu aarti was resumed.”
He also attacked the Congress party for their shameless display of hypocrisy. He vehemently attacked the Congress’ hypocrisy and said, “On one hand, they file an application in court to ensure that the hearing does not take place before 2019. On the other hand, they talk of BJP not doing anything in the direction. Ultimately, whether it’s the BJP or any government, efforts will be made to find a solution in a Constitutional way.”
This for the first time that state is having a CM who is so outspoken about the issue of Ram Mandir and trying his level best to make sure construction of Ram Mandir commence as soon as possible. It shouldn’t come as a surprise if the construction of the Ram Temple begins just after the expected verdict of the Supreme Court in October.
