HD Kumaraswamy took oath as the CM yesterday in the presence of anti-Modi, anti-BJP leaders in Karnataka. His oath taking ceremony was attended by BSP supremo Mayawati, Akhilesh Yadav, Arvind Kejriwal, Sharad Pawar, Mamata, Chandrababu Naidu, Stalin, Tejashwi Yadav, Pinarayi Vijayan, Farooq Abdullah, Ajit Singh, CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi. They all gathered on one stage to show the strength and unity of opposition against the ruling BJP. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in fact boastfully issued a slogan for regional parties unity “Jo Humse takrayega, Wo Choor-Choor ho jayega (Whoever clashes with us will be crushed to bits).” Just a day after Kumaraswamy’s oath taking ceremony, Uddhav Thackeray is speaking in the similar tone as of opposition parties.
After several childish tactics that didn’t work, Uddhav Thackeray has finally come out openly against the BJP and said that an anti-Modi front must be formed to save the country. Uddhav Thackeray said that all political parties must come together to counter the ‘calamity’ which the country is facing. Uddhav Thackeray was also invited for Kumaraswamy’s oath taking ceremony but he didn’t attend it. A day after, he said, “Be it the Congress or any other party, even the Communists, I want to appeal to everyone now. Don’t go your separate ways, fight united, only then this calamity can be averted. Otherwise, later it will be too late.” He is clearly showing that he is willing to join a “grand anti-Modi front.”
Uddhav Thackeray has clearly forgotten that his father, the great Balasaheb Thackeray, built his party and won millions of hearts by putting the Congress, the Communists and the underworld in its place. Uddhav failed to realize the change of waves during the last Maharashtra assembly elections and still wants to act like a bigger partner in the coalition with the BJP. He wants to dominate the Maharashtra politics just like Balasaheb Thackeray used to do. But one thing he needs to understand is that he does not have the charisma like Bala Saheb. Bala Saheb was a man of principles while Uddhav is behaving like all other stubborn dynast politicians. That’s why his dreams to dominate Maharashtra politics were shattered. Uddhav is frustrated because Modi-Shah duo’s aggressive politics first reduced him to play second fiddle in the alliance, and now Fadnavis’ political acumen is pushing him to oblivion. His immature behaviour and statements only show that he is still in the kindergarten of politics. With these kinds of statements from his successor, Balasaheb must be turning in his grave.
In Maharashtra assembly elections he underestimated Modi-Shah duo, BJP’s local leadership and its popularity. He is repeating the same mistake again. Still, there is enough time. He should realize the reality and make peace with the BJP and come together for serving the Nation and to defeat the Anti-India forces. Shiv-Sena is a well-established party in Maharashtra and enjoys good support among Hindus outside Maharashtra as well. If he keeps on going like this with his immaturity, he will lose Maharashtra to the BJP for good.
