The 29th of November 2017 turned out to be a lot more exciting than was previously expected. Rahul Gandhi, the Scion of the Nehru Dynasty, visited the Somnath Temple to repair his reputation among Hindus and peddle Soft Hindutva in response to BJP’s Hindutva. Of course, their Soft Hindutva is merely a facade to whitewash the decades of sectarian rule they inflicted on the Hindu Civilization. But as fate would have it, in his bid to woo Hindus, he committed his greatest gaffe yet as a politician. In a registry that is meant to record the names of non-Hindus who enter the Temple, Rahul Gandhi’s close aide apparently registered RaGa as a Non-Hindu. As much as the Congress tries to portray it as a mistake or a BJP conspiracy to damage his political career, the fact remains that Rahul Gandhi has never publicly refuted the New York Times article which described him as a Catholic.
The Indian National Congress, in an attempt to control the damage, has asserted that Rahul Gandhi is ‘not only a Hindu, but a Janeu-dhari Hindu. That claim seems a bit dubious as his grandmother, Indira Gandhi was not allowed into the Jagannath Temple at Puri because she married a Parsi and her ‘Non-Hindu’ status. Thus, it follows naturally that Rajiv Gandhi wasn’t a Hindu either and one wonders how the son of a non-Hindu father and Catholic Mother could ever be a Janeu-dhari Hindu.
The liberal establishment and its supporters who regard Rahul Gandhi as the chosen one to save Secular India from Evil Yindoo Fascism are suddenly wailing how religion of a politician is a personal affair and shouldn’t be subject of scrutiny.
Some are even going to the extent of saying religion should be kept out of politics. And all of this is after the same people ran an orchestrated campaign of ‘Minorities under threat” and politicised the suicide by a student because of his apparent caste and lionised Pehlu Khan who was probably a cattle thief simply because of his religion. Truth is, if religion could be used to further the liberal narrative, they would grab at it with two hands and if it benefits the Hindu causes, all of a sudden, it turns into a private matter.
The religion of a politician is a matter of grave concern, especially in a secular state for it provides us with relevant information about his probable approach towards interfaith relationships as an elected official. Should an ISIS sympathizer decide to contest democratic elections, would anyone then say his Religion is a private matter? Of course not. And quite probably, certain people want us to ignore Rahul Gandhi’s religious faith because it would inevitably open a can of worms. And indeed, Rahul Gandhi’s religious faith might indeed explain certain sectarian laws that have been implemented by the Sonia Gandhi-led UPA which threaten to undermine the very foundation of our Civilization.
Recently, Rahul Gandhi has been on a Temple visiting spree. But there was a time when the same man told the United States of America that Hindu Extremism was a bigger threat to India than Lashkar-e-Taiba. Could it be that his religious faith had influenced his perception of the perceived threats to India’s integrity which made him conclude that Hindu Extremism was more of a threat than those posed by his Abrahamic cousins? And one should always remember, it was Sonia Gandhi’s UPA which implemented sectarian laws such as the RTE which has led to the closure of thousands and thousands of Hindu schools while giving Christian missionaries a free run to run their own. And could it be that Rahul Gandhi’s faith explains why the Sonia led UPA implemented the Endowment Act which gives the Secular State the power to loot our Temples and desecrate the abodes of our Gods?
That the UPA in 2008 initially tried to create a create a narrative that blamed the RSS for Mumbai attacks is not much of a secret. And it’s not a secret either that the UPA conjured the mythical Hindu Terrorism to put Hinduism on the same pedastal as Islam. During the UPA regime, Christian missionaries were given a free pass to wage a demographic war against Hindus through mass conversions. And the UPA completely ignored the threat posed by the illegal immigration of Bangladeshis and Rohingyas into India and was utterly unwilling to deport those who do not belong here. And all the while it peddled a perverse form of Secularism which was really out to destroy the fabric that holds our nation together. Perhaps Rahul Gandhi’s religion does not explain the entire story of why the Sonia led UPA enacted a series of measure and adopted policies directed towards undermining Hinduism, but it does explain some part of it, maybe a significant part of it.
The revelation of Rahul Gandhi’s religion may well prove to be the final nail in the coffin for Congress’ Gujarat Campaign.
Some might call it a weird coincidence, others a divine retribution, that the very Temple which Jawahar Lal Nehru was so antagonistic towards proved to be one that has caused perhaps the biggest dent in his descendant’s political ambitions. The Congress is working overboard to control the damage that has been done. However, it seems unlikely that it will be able to recover from the revelation. Rahul Gandhi, it seems, is a curse that the Congress shall continue to suffer for the foreseeable future. And one does begin to consider that perhaps Narendra Modi is really favoured by the Gods, to be blessed with such political opponents does indeed require some help from above.
