Smriti Irani was an eyesore for the elitists of India. The elitists of India judge people on the basis of the subject’s academic qualifications. The same bunch of elitists were equally unhappy when a chai-wallah from Gujarat was projected as the Prime Minister candidate by the ‘Bhartiya Janata Party’. They quietly conceded defeat ever since the world started hailing Modi as a statesman. Elitists were happy under an overqualified underachiever like Dr. Manmohan Singh. Serial-Wallis and chai-wallahs never appealed to the elitists of India.’
While Modi has perfected the art of observing a calculated silence and then hitting back with actions, Smriti Irani liked to hit back. People on the receiving end of Smriti Irani’s outburst didn’t just receive humiliation but an entire public movement against them. Not very long back, Smriti Irani showed Rashid Alvi his place. Or her interview with Barkha Dutt where the latter looked extremely uncomfortable with her pointed jibes and calculated answers.
Smriti Irani made the elitists of India extremely nervous and all they had against her ‘fake’ degree.
In his complaint, a clearly-out-of-job freelance writer Ahmer Khan alleged that Smriti Irani, then Union HRD Minister and now Union Textiles Minister, had purposely given discrepant information about her educational qualifications in affidavits filed before the Election Commission in 2004, 2011 and 2014 and not given any clarification, despite concerns raised on the issue.
Khan had requested the court to take note of the fake degree offences alleged in his plea under Section 125A of the RPA and summon the accused Smriti Irani, for trial.

The Patiala House Court minced no words today and dismissed the case outright. Metropolitan Magistrate Harvinder Singh said the petition for seeking summon against Irani filed with the sole intention of harassing Ms Irani, because she is a central minister.
He further observed that the complaint has been filed after delay of 11 years and the original elections affidavit of 2004 is not available.
That’s a big jolt for the elitist cartel of India, their out-of-job freelance writer turned plaintiff vigilante couldn’t achieve anything and as always Smriti Irani walked out unscathed. We must hand it to Smriti Irani for not budging under pressure despite being a constant target of the elitist cartel.
While the popular perception is that Smriti Irani was demoted for making a mess of the HRD Ministry but certainly there’s more to this story than what meets the eyes and of course UP Elections will be the tell-tale. For now Smriti Irani can breathe easy but not for long, the cartel must be working on their next propaganda already.
